For the purpose of foreign policy and security, the United States Department of Finance's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has taken measures such as prohibiting transactions and freezing assets for countries and regions designated by country and for specific individuals and groups.
The following countries are designated as subject to economic sanctions under OFAC regulations.

· Cuba
· Syria
